Information for Janome 200130006 | Blind Hem Sewing Foot | Category A
Janome Blind Hem Foot, blind hemming can sometimes be a little bit tricky so the Blind hem Foot goes some way to helping improve this technique.
The foot has a metal guide in the centre and three lines struck on the underside. During blind hemming, the fold of the fabric snugs against the guide in the foot for accuracy whilst the lines underneath help to prevent unnecessary slipping.
The needle will swing over the metal guide creating slack in the upper tension so that the pick of the stitch is almost invisible.
(A tricky technique made easier)
How to use the Blind Hem foot:
- Turn the guide screw and move the sliding next to the folded edge.
- Sew, guiding the folded edge along the sliding guide.
- For a professional looking hem fold the fabric, reducing the lip to a scant 0.3 cm (1/8").
- As you sew, the right hand stitch will fall off the fabric edge forming a chain stitch
